張家港市東渡實驗學校坐落在中國蘇州張家港市（位于市區東部暨陽東路483號），創建于2011年9月，是市教育局直屬的九年一貫制學校。學校占地70畝（4.66萬㎡），校舍建筑面積2.2萬㎡，建有圖書館、信息中心、體藝館、多功能報告廳等。學校現有35個教學班（小學20個班級，初中15個班級），學生1513名，教職工110人。
【General Overview】
Dongdu Experimental School，founded in September 2011, is located on Jiyang East Road, Zhangjiagang, Jiangsu Province, China. It is a public school on a nine-year implementation system, directly under the Education Bureau. This school covers an area of 46,600 square meters (11.5 acres) and 22,000 square meters of structural facilities. This includes buildings such as: the information center, the gymnasium and lecture hall. There are 35 classes in our school, including 20 classes in primary school department and 15 classes in junior school department. 1513 students and 110 staff are enrolled in the school.

Dongdu Experimental School is special, not only because of the elegant building style originating from south of Changjiang River, but also its accordance with the Dongdu spirit. Our schools’ educational philosophy is “Nine years achieves the future”, which has formed the special school spirit, “Grace, Elegance, Perseverance, Achievement.”
【辦學特色】
學校積極構建“儀式活動、行規教育、社會實踐、經典誦讀”等有效德育載體，形成了 “活動育人”的德育模式，創建了“六渡”少年宮和“揚帆”社團兩大學生活動品牌；學校以課程改革為突破，著力打造聲樂特色項目，努力構建“三案五環節”協作課堂，全力推進“雙語教育”實踐與研究，著力提升學校教育品質。
我校的雙語教育特色課改項目自2013年9月開始實施后備受關注，這個項目是在中國著名雙語教育專家龔海平教授的指導下進行。中國教育科學研究院研究員張志遠、華東師范大學教授王斌華為雙語教育顧問。
學校雙語教師全部具有大學本科畢業的學歷及其以上學歷，擁有學士學位、碩士學位。學校常年聘請外籍教師，現聘來自英國和美國籍教師三名。
此課改項目已開始實施，在小學一年級至二年級已全面實施雙語教育，所取得的成績分別在《中國教育報》、江蘇教育信息網和《張家港日報》等媒體上被宣傳報道，產生了廣泛的影響。
【Dongdu’s specialties】
Through various kinds of activities, Dongdu Experimental School has formed its own moral style of education. It has also organized two students’ communities: the Hoisting Sail Community and Liudu Children’s Palace Community. Adopting the idea of the revolution of curriculum, our school has been developing a special program of vocal music and fully practicing the study of bilingual education. These two programs have been developed in order to improve the quality of education and opportunities given to our students.
Bilingual education in our school, which started in September 2013, has attracted a lot of attention. The project is leaded by Professor Gong haiping, Chinese well-known education specialist. Zhang zhiyuan, reasearcher of Education and Research Institute, and Wang binhua, professor of East China Normal University are the consultants of our bilingual education project.
Bilingual teachers in our school all earned bachelor degree or above. The school employs full-time foreign teachers. We now have three foreign teachers that are from the UK and the USA.
The project has come into effect. Grade 1 and Grade 2 students get bilingual education and what it has achieved has been reported by a lot of media, including China Education Daily and Zhangjiagang Daily, and is featured on the Jiangsu Education Information website.

Dongdu Experimental School has achieved many awards within two years. Among them are “The Energy Conservation Unit of Suzhou” , “Advanced School in Practicing of Ethos”, “Moral Construction Advanced School of Zhangjiagang” and “Moral Construction Advanced and Demonstrated School of Zhangjiagang”.
